Emergency Dentistry: Emergency Exam & X-rays in Fairlawn

Emergency Exam & X-rays in Fairlawn

Dental emergencies occur at any time. We at 911 Dental, strive to always provide emergency dental exams to our patients at any time of day.

Our emergency exam focuses on the problematic area and usually seeks to resolve the pain and discomfort reported by the patient.

The difference between a regular exam and an emergency exam is that the emergency exam only focuses on one area. For example, if a patient comes in with a fractured tooth after an accident, an emergency exam will only check the fractured tooth and overlook other areas such as the ears, throat, nose, etc. An Emergency exam should therefore not substitute the regular exams.

Emergency exams offer a diagnosis and treatment plan that may include one-visit solutions or multi-step solutions based on the situation.

In most cases, an emergency exam includes an X-ray taken to show the severity of the damage. Since most patients seek emergency exams when they are in severe pain, we at 911 Dental always ensure to take a very short time to diagnose the problem using X-rays which are a quick way to tell what is happening behind the painful area.

Dental X-rays

Dental X-rays help our dentists to better understand the problem.

They can show the tooth's anatomy

They can show hidden tooth decay

They can show developing tumors and cysts

There are different types of dental X-rays. For emergency dental exams, a "Single X-ray" helps solve the problem faster. Single X-rays are intraoral (the X-ray film is placed inside the mouth).
